Malaysian payroll explained: EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB in one run

How EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB fit into a monthly payroll run for Malaysian SMEs — and how Fluent Hour calculates them from attendance, overtime and claims.

Running payroll in Malaysia means more than a net salary figure. Employers must calculate Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), Employment Insurance System (EIS) and Monthly Tax Deduction (PCB / MTD) correctly every month — then remit on time.

Fluent Hour is built for that workflow. Approved attendance, overtime and expense claims feed the payroll run. Statutory rates are applied in the product so your team is not rebuilding formulas in a spreadsheet at month end.

Start from hours that are already signed off. When timesheets and overtime are approved in Fluent Hour, payroll uses those figures instead of re-keying. Claims that should reduce or adjust pay can post into the same run.

EPF, SOCSO and EIS employer and employee portions are calculated according to the schedules configured for your company. PCB follows the Inland Revenue Board rules for monthly deduction so payslips stay consistent with what staff expect.

When you also use Fluent Count, approved payroll journals post into the general ledger. Wages, employer contributions and statutory payables land as a balanced entry — finance does not retype the payroll register.

Statutory payroll in FluentHour is built for Malaysia (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB). Singapore teams can still use leave, attendance and claims in the same apps; CPF and IRAS payroll are not claimed in the product today.
